Ryan ended the 2008 season with 1 Pole, 3 Wins, 4 Heat Race Wins, and 2nd in AVSS Points. He also finished 4th in the Anderson Speedway Little 500 and had the fastest lap of the race at 11.50.
Ryan had a strong start to the 2009 season with a pole run and 2nd place finish at Salem Speedway. Then he broke the track record at Anderson Speedway (only to be out qualified by Dave Steele who now holds the record) and went onto finish 3rd. Ryan then went to his home track Delaware Speedway in Komoka, Ontario, Canada and set a new track record on his way to another pole run and a 3rd place finish. However his championship hopes came to an abrupt halt after a devastating crash in June at Toledo Speedway. The rear axle broke on Ryan's car during qualifying sending his car spinning into the wall coming off turn 2 at speeds around 140 mph. It was a hard driver side impact that completely demolished the car. Ryan was checked out by paramedics and escaped serious injury, only suffering some bruising. The team built the backup car and finished the season off salvaging 1 win at Owosso Speedway, a 5th place finish in the prestigious Anderson Speedway "Little 500" and a pole run at Berlin Raceway nearly missing the track record. In all Ryan ended the season with 3 Poles, 1 Win, 8 Top 5's, and 4th place in AVSS points.
Ryan ran 2 TBARA races in early November for Decaire Motorsports at Concord Speedway in Concord, NC and Citrus County Speedway in Inverness, FL. He also competed in Florida Speedweeks in Terry Decaire's #41 TBARA Sprint car. He emerged from Speedweeks 3rd in TBARA points with strong Top 5 finishes. For 2010 Ryan will compete in his father's #07 410 Sprint Car, competing with the Must See Racing series. The season starts May 8 at Salem Speedway in Salem Indiana. Each race will be broadcast nationwide on the Comcast network.
